Short Stories for Students.  1997-present.
Criticism and biographical material focused on the authors and short stories most commonly read in college. Doesn't cover everything, but a great place to start if your story is here. A similar series, Poetry for Students ( Ref. PN 1101 .P756 ), does the same for poetry. In fact, pick a genre, there's probably a series like this for it.
